Accessibility

Marshbank is on two floors, and there are steps up to the front door, so is not suitable for people who find stairs difficult.

Cottage Equipment

Marshbank is a comfortable, cosy and very well equipped holiday home. There is everything from games and books, Bluetooth speaker and DVD player, hairdryer, rechargeable torch, iron and ironing board to the all important wall mounted bottle opener. For a full list of equipment please see our Inventory page.

Optional equipment like high chairs, travel cot, toddler step for our younger visitors and dog bowls for our furry friends are all available on request. There is no extra charge for these items, just make sure to let us know.

Heating and Electricity

Marshbank is well insulated and double-glazed throughout providing a comfortable environment in all weather conditions, even that big winter blow from the sea! The Living Room has its log burning stove which provides a welcome glow of flickering flames on a cold evening in winter.

The main spaces have night storage heaters providing a comfortable level of background heating in the colder months. These are located in the Living Room (2), Inner Hall, Kitchen, First Floor Landing and Master Bedroom. They are complemented by the latest thermostatically controlled high efficiency electric radiators located in the Living Room, Entrance Hall and Kitchen to deal with those sudden changes in the weather. All bedrooms and bathrooms have individual thermostatically controlled electric panel heaters providing a responsive and controllable source of heating. In addition the bathroom has a heated towel rail.

Parking

Marshbank has a curving driveway leading from the gates at the northern end of the property and there is space for parking and turning by the entrance to the house. There is room for at least 4 cars at the property.

Bed Linen and Towels

All bed linen is provided in the price for the property. We also provide bath towels and hand towels for each person, together with cloakroom towels, bath mats and tea towels. We would ask you to bring your own towels for the beach, visits to local swimming pools and for wet and muddy dogs.

Dog Friendly

Yes we do accept well-behaved dogs but with some conditions.

  • You can bring one medium size or two small dogs with you as long as we know in advance.
  • There is a charge of £5 per dog per night (minimum charge £20 per dog per booking).
  • Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the Living Room overnight unless in a secure crate.
  • We regret we cannot accept puppies under 1 year old due to the potential risk of damage to furnishings.
  • Dogs are not to be left unattended in the house. If you have to go out without them we are happy for them to be left in their dog crate in the hall. We can provide a crate and a pet gate for the kitchen at no extra charge if requested.

Please remember to bring towels to dry your dog. They can get rather wet and sandy having fun on the beach or muddy on adventurous walks.
